 At BDI, we take training very seriously. It is part of our culture. We feel that training and development is an on going process that occurs every day! Our managers and chefs are passionate about teaching and developing - helping all of our BDI team members be the best they can be; whether at the hourly or management level.
There are several ways in which we work to achieve that commitment on going. All of our managers and chefs go through a 14 week training program where they are exposed to all parts of the restaurant. During this time, they spend one full week at our training center in Columbus to "learn from our experts"; that is, they spend time with our corporate chefs, our accounting, People Services and Support, marketing and operations team. They are able to ask questions, learn, and gain clarity regarding all the information they have been exposed to while training in the restaurants.
The BDI training program of course offers detailed and comprehensive instruction for all hourly positions along with management and culinary training. Our superstar trainers also have the opportunity to travel to new stores to be part of the opening team.
